About
Built in the late 12th century by the Almohad Caliph Yacoub el-Mansour, the Kasbah Mosque is one of the finest examples of Hispano-Moorish architecture in Morocco. Its striking minaret, decorated with diamond patterns and emerald-green zellige tiles, served as a design model across the Islamic world. Nicknamed the 'Mosque of the Golden Apples', it is steeped in local legend and remains a major active place of worship.
